Shipping & Local Delivery
Effective Date: September 2, 2026
Direct Furniture USA currently provides furniture delivery to eligible addresses throughout New Jersey.
Our goal is to make furniture delivery as convenient as possible. Depending on the merchandise, delivery may include in-home placement, assembly, setup, and packaging removal.
Please review the information below so your delivery can be completed safely and successfully.
1. New Jersey Delivery Area
Direct Furniture USA currently delivers to eligible residential and commercial addresses within New Jersey.
Delivery availability may depend on:
-
Delivery ZIP code;
-
Product location and availability;
-
Product size and weight;
-
Manufacturer or supplier restrictions;
-
Building-access requirements; and
-
Delivery-provider availability.
We do not currently offer standard furniture delivery outside New Jersey unless an out-of-state delivery arrangement is specifically approved before purchase.
If we determine that an order cannot be delivered to your address, we will contact you. If Direct Furniture USA cancels the order for this reason, you will receive a full refund for the affected merchandise and any services that were not performed.
2. Free White-Glove Delivery
Eligible furniture orders include free full-service white-glove delivery throughout New Jersey at no additional cost.
Depending on the product, white-glove delivery may include:
-
Scheduled delivery;
-
Delivery inside your home;
-
Placement in an accessible room of your choice;
-
Unpacking;
-
Basic furniture assembly;
-
Setup; and
-
Removal of ordinary delivery packaging.
The delivery service applicable to your order will be shown on the product page, cart, checkout, order confirmation, or other applicable order documentation.
Certain smaller products or accessories may be shipped by parcel carrier instead of white-glove delivery. Parcel shipments generally do not include assembly, room placement, or packaging removal.
3. Delivery Address & Contact Information
Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address, telephone number, and email address when placing your order.
If applicable, please also provide:
-
Apartment, unit, or floor number;
-
Building name;
-
Gate or security instructions;
-
Elevator information;
-
Loading-dock requirements;
-
Delivery-hour restrictions; and
-
Other building or property requirements.
Notify us promptly if any information changes.
Changing the delivery address after an order has been processed may affect eligibility, scheduling, availability, taxes, or the estimated delivery timeframe.
4. Product Availability & Order Processing
Furniture may be fulfilled from manufacturer, distributor, or warehouse inventory.
Order processing may include:
-
Payment and fraud verification;
-
Inventory confirmation;
-
Supplier acceptance;
-
Inventory allocation;
-
Warehouse transfer;
-
Product preparation or inspection; and
-
Delivery coordination.
An order confirmation does not necessarily mean that merchandise has already shipped or is ready for delivery.
If merchandise becomes unavailable, discontinued, or cannot be supplied within the promised delivery period, we will contact you with the available options.
You are never required to accept a substitute product.
5. Delivery Estimates
Product pages may display estimated processing or delivery timeframes.
These estimates are provided for planning purposes and may change based on inventory, supplier location, freight movement, or other fulfillment factors.
Your applicable order documents may provide a more specific promised delivery date or delivery period.
We will make reasonable efforts to deliver your merchandise within the stated timeframe.
Customer-requested changes, delivery holds, address changes, or scheduling delays may result in a revised delivery timeframe.
6. Delivery Delays
If Direct Furniture USA determines that your merchandise cannot be delivered within the promised delivery period, we will provide the applicable options, which may include:
-
Accepting delivery on a specified later date; or
-
Cancelling the affected merchandise for a full refund.
No cancellation fee or restocking fee will apply when you cancel because Direct Furniture USA cannot meet the applicable promised delivery obligation and you do not agree to the revised delivery date.
If only part of an order is delayed, you may be offered the option to:
-
Accept the available merchandise;
-
Wait and have the order delivered together;
-
Accept a revised date for the delayed merchandise; or
-
Cancel the affected undelivered merchandise.
7. Scheduling Your Delivery
Large furniture deliveries generally require an appointment.
When your merchandise is ready, Direct Furniture USA or an authorized delivery provider may contact you by:
-
Telephone;
-
Text message; or
-
Email.
Please make sure your contact information is current and respond promptly to scheduling requests.
Delivery time windows are estimates rather than guaranteed exact arrival times.
Traffic, weather, earlier deliveries, road conditions, building access, and other circumstances may affect the delivery team's arrival time.
8. Someone Must Be Present
Unless another arrangement is expressly approved, an adult 18 years of age or older must be present to accept a scheduled furniture delivery.
The person accepting the delivery should be authorized to:
-
Provide access to the property;
-
Direct furniture placement;
-
Inspect the merchandise;
-
Report visible damage or discrepancies; and
-
Sign the delivery documentation.
An adult accepting the delivery at the confirmed address may be treated as authorized to accept the order on the customer's behalf.
9. Building & Property Requirements
Before delivery, please tell us about any special building or property requirements, including:
-
Elevator reservations;
-
Loading-dock reservations;
-
Certificate-of-insurance requirements;
-
Delivery-hour restrictions;
-
Security procedures;
-
Gate access;
-
Parking restrictions;
-
Service-entrance requirements; or
-
Property-management approval.
The customer is responsible for obtaining required building permission and reserving necessary access.
Certificate-of-insurance requests should be submitted in advance. Same-day processing may not always be available.
Delivery may need to be rescheduled if required building access has not been arranged.
10. Measure Before You Order
Before purchasing furniture, please measure both the intended room and the entire delivery path.
Check:
-
Exterior entrances;
-
Doorways;
-
Hallways;
-
Corners;
-
Stairways and landings;
-
Elevators;
-
Ceiling heights;
-
Railings; and
-
The intended placement area.
Product dimensions are generally supplied by manufacturers and may be approximate.
Please allow additional clearance for packaging, furniture orientation, legs, arms, door hardware, railings, and safe maneuvering.
If merchandise substantially matches the product and dimensions ordered but does not fit through the delivery path or into the intended room, it is not considered damaged, defective, or incorrect.
Returns caused by fit or access issues may be treated as buyer's-remorse returns under our Returns & Refunds policy.
11. Safe & Accessible Delivery Area
The customer is responsible for providing a safe and reasonably accessible delivery path.
Before the delivery team arrives, please:
-
Remove furniture and personal belongings from the delivery path;
-
Secure pets;
-
Keep children away from the delivery area;
-
Remove snow, ice, water, or other hazards;
-
Provide adequate lighting;
-
Arrange required elevator or building access; and
-
Provide safe and legal parking or loading access when required.
The delivery team may decline to proceed if conditions could reasonably cause injury, property damage, product damage, or unsafe handling.
A safety-related delivery refusal does not automatically cancel the order.
12. Stairs, Elevators & Difficult Access
Stairs, elevators, high-rise buildings, long carry distances, or unusually difficult access may require advance planning.
Please disclose these conditions before delivery.
If unexpected access problems are discovered at the time of delivery, the delivery team may:
-
Complete the delivery if it can be done safely;
-
Deliver to the nearest safe and accessible location;
-
Request authorization for additional services;
-
Reschedule with additional personnel or equipment; or
-
Return the merchandise to the delivery facility.
Standard delivery does not include crane service, hoisting through windows or balconies, removal of doors or railings, structural modifications, or other extraordinary access work unless specifically agreed in advance.
13. Assembly & Setup
When included with your delivery, basic furniture assembly may include attaching ordinary manufacturer-supplied components such as:
-
Legs or feet;
-
Furniture backs;
-
Table bases;
-
Bed rails;
-
Headboards;
-
Mirrors; and
-
Standard furniture hardware.
Our delivery teams do not perform:
-
Hanging mirrors on walls;
-
Drilling into walls;
-
Hanging or installing lighting fixtures;
-
Electrical wiring;
-
Plumbing;
-
Gas connections;
-
Carpentry or construction;
-
Structural modifications;
-
Wall reinforcement;
-
Television mounting;
-
Permanent wall mounting; or
-
Any other work requiring a licensed contractor.
Manufacturer-provided wall anchors or tip restraints may be left with the customer when installation is not included.
Always follow the manufacturer's safety and anchoring instructions.
14. Inspect Your Furniture at Delivery
Please inspect your merchandise while the delivery team is present.
Whenever reasonably possible, confirm:
-
The correct item and quantity;
-
Color and configuration;
-
Visible condition;
-
Included pieces and components;
-
Assembly and placement; and
-
Powered functions when applicable.
Visible damage, missing pieces, or incorrect merchandise should be reported to the delivery team and noted on the delivery documentation before the team leaves.
Signing a delivery receipt does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived, but documenting problems immediately helps us investigate and resolve claims faster.
Concealed damage or defects should be reported as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 48 hours after delivery.
15. Delivery Documentation
Direct Furniture USA and its authorized delivery providers may document delivery using records such as:
-
Customer or recipient signatures;
-
Printed names;
-
Delivery photographs;
-
Product photographs;
-
Model or serial numbers;
-
Date and time records;
-
Electronic delivery records;
-
Driver notes;
-
Delivery-location records; and
-
Customer communications.
These records may be used to confirm delivery, investigate damage, resolve service concerns, support insurance claims, prevent fraud, and respond to payment disputes.
Delivery photographs may show the merchandise, packaging, placement, delivery location, or relevant access conditions.
16. Missed or Failed Deliveries
A delivery may be considered missed or failed if:
-
No authorized adult is present;
-
The customer cannot be reached;
-
Building or property access is unavailable;
-
Required elevator or loading-dock arrangements were not made;
-
The address is incorrect;
-
The merchandise cannot fit through the delivery path;
-
The delivery area is unsafe;
-
Required parking or access is unavailable; or
-
Otherwise correct and undamaged merchandise is refused.
When a failed delivery results from circumstances within the customer's reasonable control, reasonable charges may apply for:
-
Redelivery;
-
Storage;
-
Additional labor;
-
Return transportation; or
-
Extraordinary handling.
Any applicable charge will be disclosed whenever reasonably possible before another delivery is scheduled.
No failed-delivery charge will apply when the failure was caused solely by Direct Furniture USA or its authorized delivery provider.
17. Refused Deliveries
Refusing delivery does not automatically cancel an order or guarantee a full refund.
You should promptly notify the delivery team and Direct Furniture USA if merchandise is:
-
Materially damaged;
-
Incorrect;
-
Unsafe; or
-
Materially different from what was ordered.
Refusing otherwise correct and undamaged merchandise because of a change of mind, fit problem, access problem, comfort preference, or other buyer's-remorse reason may be handled under our Order Cancellations or Returns & Refunds policies.
A 20% cancellation fee or 20% restocking fee may apply, depending on the circumstances, but both fees will not be charged for the same merchandise.
18. Damaged or Incorrect Merchandise
If merchandise arrives materially damaged, incorrect, or materially nonconforming, please notify the delivery team and Direct Furniture USA promptly.
Depending on the circumstances, available remedies may include:
-
Replacement parts;
-
Repair or professional service;
-
Replacement merchandise;
-
Exchange;
-
Return and refund; or
-
Another appropriate resolution.
No buyer's-remorse restocking fee will apply when Direct Furniture USA verifies that a return is required because merchandise was delivered materially damaged, materially defective, or incorrect.
Please retain the merchandise and any available packaging until we provide further instructions.
19. Delivery Holds & Storage
We may approve a temporary customer-requested delivery hold when operationally possible.
A delivery hold may affect the estimated or promised delivery timeframe.
Storage charges may apply when merchandise must remain in storage because:
-
The customer repeatedly postpones available delivery dates;
-
A requested hold exceeds any included storage period; or
-
The customer is unable to accept merchandise that is ready for delivery.
Any storage charge will be disclosed before it begins.
20. Weather & Other Delivery Interruptions
Delivery may be delayed or rescheduled because of conditions such as:
-
Severe weather;
-
Snow or ice;
-
Flooding;
-
Road closures;
-
Emergencies;
-
Government restrictions;
-
Unsafe property conditions;
-
Vehicle problems; or
-
Other circumstances affecting safe delivery.
We will provide an updated delivery arrangement whenever reasonably possible.
These circumstances do not eliminate any cancellation or refund right that may apply if Direct Furniture USA ultimately cannot meet an applicable promised delivery obligation.
21. Property Damage
Please identify fragile floors, walls, fixtures, doorways, railings, landscaping, or other property concerns before delivery begins.
If you believe the delivery team damaged your property, report it to the delivery team before they leave whenever reasonably possible and contact Direct Furniture USA promptly.
Please provide:
-
Your order number;
-
A description of the damage;
-
Photographs; and
-
Any other relevant information.
Direct Furniture USA, its delivery provider, or its insurer may request additional information or inspect the reported damage.
22. Payment Disputes & Delivery Records
Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from exercising a lawful right to dispute a payment.
However, a payment dispute does not create a right to receive duplicate reimbursement or to retain both the purchase funds and merchandise without authorization.
If a payment dispute occurs, Direct Furniture USA may provide applicable order, communication, delivery, signature, and photographic records to its payment processor, card network, issuing bank, financing provider, insurer, or other authorized dispute administrator.
Any refund, charge reversal, replacement, insurance payment, or other recovery already received may be considered when determining whether any additional amount remains due.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be limited or waived.
